About the event

Learn the basics about invasive species and how to conduct effective, integrated management.

This hands-on course will be lead by Lindsay Peterson, Coordinator for the Wild Rivers Invasive Species Coalition (WRISC), who has 10+ years of experience in invasive species management.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Intro to Invasive Species
  • Identification of Common Invasives
  • Adaptive Management Planning
  • Management Techniques
  • Hands-On Management Demo
  • Invasive Species Prevention

Event will be held at the Wagner Town Hall. We will cover most of the material indoors, presentation style. There will be a 30-45min management demonstration at a field location.

This will be on Bruette Road. The target invasive will be Autumn Olive and WRISC will demonstrate various woody shrub control techniques, how to mix herbicide, safety information, etc. Participants will have the opportunity to practice management techniques on site.

WRISC will provide all equipment and will have gloves on hand for participants to borrow.

Light snacks and coffee will be available.
