There's New WRISCer's in Town!

WRISC welcomes, Mason, Mackenzie, and Dana to the team! If you see them working around town, don't be afraid to say hello!

 

Mason Schinderle

Hometown: Iron Mountain, MI


Mason holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies and Sustainability, with a minor in Biology, from Northern Michigan University. As an avid outdoors enthusiast, Mason spends his free time fishing, hunting, camping, and snowboarding! This summer, Mason is excited to be working outdoors, helping to control the spread of invasives species in our area, and preserving the native environment.

 

Mackenzie McClure

Hometown: Harrison Township, MI


Mackenzie recently graduated from Northern Michigan University and received a B.S. in Biology. When she's not at work, Mackenzie enjoys hiking, gardening, and working out! Over the summer, Mackenzie is excited to learn more about the different plants in the area and help protect native species!



 

Dana Nelson

Hometown: Scottville, MI


For the last 5 years, Dana worked in Homer, Alaska as the Education Specialist for Kachemak Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve! Dana holds a B.S. in Outdoor Recreation from Central Michigan University and is excited to learn more about invasive species and meet new people this summer. Dana spends her free time outside, playing volleyball and tending to her new beehives.
